Yes. Refrigerators, freezers, and AC units contain refrigerant that cannot legally go to a landfill. We route those units through processors that recover the refrigerant under EPA-compliant methods. You do not need to drain or prep anything. We handle the full process so the unit is disposed of the right way.
Can you move a heavy appliance down stairs or out of a tight space?
Yes. We bring appliance dollies, straps, and a two-person crew built for awkward lifts. Garage water heaters, upstairs washers, and refrigerators wedged into tight San Diego kitchens are routine for us. Very heavy units with difficult stairs may add a small surcharge, but we always quote that up front before we start.
Do you recycle old appliances or just dump them?
We recycle. Appliances are mostly steel, copper, and aluminum, so working or not, the metal has value and a place to go. We take units to a local scrap recycler rather than the landfill. Anything still in working condition we try to donate first. Disposal is the last resort, never the first.
Do I need to disconnect the appliance before you arrive?
No. We disconnect standard plug-in and water-line appliances as part of the job. For gas appliances we recommend the gas line be shut off ahead of time for safety, and we can advise on that when you call. You do not have to do any prep work. We are a newly launched family business and we handle the full job start to finish.
